Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has made it clear that he wishes to keep Crysencio Summerville at the club.

Transfer activity is at a minimum this month for Leeds, with one of the main pieces of speculation being an outgoing transfer for young winger Crysencio Summerville.

After Cody Drameh’s departure to Cardiff, Leeds can’t really afford to let anyone else go out of the door.

However, 2.Bundesliga side Hamburg have been testing the waters with an approach for Summerville this week.

Bild in Germany report that the winger is keen on the move while Leeds are very reluctant to lose him this month.

The Athletic’s Phil Hay has now offered insight on Marcelo Bielsa’s stance on the matter, outlining that it’s not a deal he wants to go through.

Although, Leeds appear to have a contingency in place, with Hay revealing here that the plan would be to source a replacement even before Summerville does depart.

Don’t let him leave, we have too few players to even consider this an option.

Summerville might get guaranteed starts in the second tier of Germany, but he’s unlikely to develop into a first-team ready Leeds player by going anywhere else.

This transfer window has been a bit baffling really that one of the only deals that looks like it isn’t dead is an outgoing.

I just think it’s a very big gamble to not get anyone through the doors while the thought of an exit is even being entertained.
