On this week’s Ornstein and Chapman podcast, Phil Hay provided an update on where Leeds are at with signing a new goalkeeper.

The need for a new goalkeeper has come about due to Kiko Casilla’s pending racism charge which could see him banned for a minimum of 6 games. Ilan Meslier was brought into the side to play against Arsenal on Monday night and was the most impressive player on the pitch. His saves and distribution matched Casilla’s ability. It’s because of this Leeds are confident in Meslier’s ability to take the reigns from Kiko when he does face his charge.

Phil Hay has revealed that Leeds are looking to sign the 18 year old Elia Caprile from Chievo. He’s said to be a highly rated prospect.

He also revealed that Leeds are still keen on Che Adams despite Southampton’s current message being that they have no intention of letting him go. Though Hay did admit that Leeds are going to monitor whether they can get any movement on this one soon and if not, look towards other targets.
