Today was an absolutely fantastic day to be a Leeds United fan. We absolutely battered Burton for the whole 90 minutes, when was the last time we’d done that to a team? 30 shots, 10 of which were on target, and of course the 5 goals. If we hadn’t have taken our foot off the gas during the last 20 minutes we could’ve easily had 7 or 8 I’m sure.

Here are our player ratings…

Felix Wiedwald – 8 – He had absolutely nothing to do today. I’m only giving him an 8 because no player on that pitch deserves any less. His distribution was decent enough though and that’s a big part of the way we play under Christiansen.

Onto the defence…

  1. What a performance. I know Burton wouldn’t be great but you can only beat what is in front of you. The new signings are really making all the difference. Roofe is a different player this year too. Can’t wait for Birmingham on Tuesday night. M.O.T.

  2. what a team this group would finish in the top 5 in the Premier league
we didn’t even play the incredible Alioski
    Vieria is yet to shine
    Saiz and Lasogga are brilliant
Jansson Ayling and Cooper were awesome

    • Yes Peter. What a performance. This is a serious group of players and a serious manager. What a job Victor has done! That was a rusty Lasogga we saw there. Just wait until he’s well oiled. And some had been calling for Roofe to retain his place up top! NO!!! The 3 in behind are fantastic, and we have 2 more available. O’Kane is pulling the strings in the middle and Phillips is benefiting. The only worry I have is that Klich and Vieira are way off the pace atm. Klich is so far waiting to impress and could end up being a ‘relatively’ poor signing. The back 4 look fantastic, and there’s very strong cover. Making all this tick is a manager that understands football. I’m convinced that this is it…. promotion as champions beckons. I don’t usually get carried away but I’m telling you, I am majorly excited.

  3. Outstanding performance against poor opposition. But did anyone need to be at their very best to beat them ? I doubt it and hope not. So, save the nine so and tens for when we come up against the better teams in the Division.

  4. Was at the game today. Best game which united dominated for over 10 years. Great atmosphere at the theatre of nuclear noise. We were in third gear for the last 25 minutes of the match but still scored five. We need to keep our feet on the ground and look forward to a rejuvenated Alioski to intimidate Birmingham City. It has happened in the past when enthusiasm increases the number that is followed by a poor performance. Lasogga was man of the match today and should have had a hat trick.
