Leeds United played out a 0-0 draw at home to Chelsea, but Tyler Roberts’ lively performance was something that should draw significant praise.

Coming into the game, the Welsh international has had a lot to prove after some below-par performances in the Premier League.

He’s been much better of late and proving to be a valuable asset to Marcelo Bielsa as Rodrigo continues to push towards full fitness.

He started in the game against Chelsea and instantly looked like the biggest threat to Thomas Tuchel’s unbeaten record so far.

A curling shot from just outside that box was destined for the top-right corner before a fingertip from Mendy pushed it onto the crossbar.

Not only did he come closest to scoring (and had one disallowed), but he was a constant force for Leeds in attack and deserved the BT Sport Man of the Match award at full-time.

His performances are turning a few heads at the moment, as he looks to force his way back into Bielsa’s long-term vision at Elland Road…

He’s had it tough this season with the step up to the top flight and the addition of Rodrigo hasn’t made it easy.

However, with the Spaniard still struggling, a performance like that from Roberts is hugely promising going forward.

At the minute, he’s fighting to prove he has a long-term place at Leeds and playing like that is only going to work in his favour.

Once he gets a goal under his belt, we might start to see a much more confident and bullish player, to go with all the solid movement and link-up play.
