Leeds United winger Willy Gnonto is set for interest in the summer transfer window from Juventus, while Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is said to be “crazy” about him.

With relegation dumping Leeds out of the Premier League, their return to the Championship won’t be with some of their star players still at the club.

Despite finishing 19th with a terrible run of form and some shocking performances, there are some players in the side that are better than a drop into the EFL.

Will Leeds sell Gnonto?

Perhaps one of the more likely exits from Elland Road in the summer months is that of Italy international Willy Gnonto, who only joined the club last summer for the small sum of £3.8million.

However, his performances this season for the Whites have seen him gain plenty of admirers – scoring four and assisting four in all competitions, while demonstrating incredible potential for the future, being just 19 years of age.

Gnonto to Man City?

Italian outlet TMW are now claiming that interest is already emerging from the Serie A for the teenager, with Juventus said to be looking at signing him.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is said to also be very intrigued by the young attacker, as the report details:

“Juventus have had their eyes on it for some time now and there are those who swear that even Guardiola is crazy about it.”

However, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that Leeds retain Gnonto for the Championship season, given the four years left on his contract and the likelihood being Leeds commanding a huge fee for him.

It will be incredibly difficult to hold onto Gnonto, but what stands in our favour is that we’re going to sell a lot of other players, so we aren’t forced to let him leave on the cheap.

Gnonto might want to leave to pursue a better opportunity, which is fair enough, but he’s going to be sold for the fee that we want.

We’re in a strong position with this one, and whoever signs him is going to be giving us a lot of money for him.
