It’s been reported by The Athletic that Leeds United are going back in with a £20m bid for RB Salzburg ace Brenden Aaronson.

Leeds reportedly saw a £15m offer for the USMNT international rejected earlier in the week, with Salzburg eager to retain the service of the 21-year-old.

However, The Athletic are now reporting that Leeds will be back in with a fresh £20m bid as they aim to lure the midfielder out of Austria and to the Premier League.

Victor Orta is in Austria leading negotiations, as Leeds aim to solve a midfielder conundrum that’s been badgering them for a number of years now.

Despite Leeds’ eagerness to get the deal done and a £20m bid on the horizon, there’s anxiety amongst the Elland Road fanbase, with many supporters fearing that the club won’t be able to land Aaronson.

Although a deal could be there to be done in the summer, many fans feel like it’s a case of now or never when it comes to the midfielder:

The fact that Leeds want the deal done this month does suggest that there’s a feeling at the club that Marcelo Bielsa’s squad needs additions that cannot wait.

It’s difficult to know if Leeds miss out in the next 10 days, whether there will be a deal in the summer.

Aaronson’s stock is rising and there will be other interested parties, which would then drive the price up.

That’s maybe why Leeds are pushing so hard right now? Maybe they feel it’s a case of now or never when it comes to getting the midfielder to Elland Road.

If that is the case, it heightens the importance of the next 10 days.
