Leeds head into Saturday’s Yorkshire derby on the back of an alarming run of form. Leeds will be looking to improve their performances and end a bad run with the help of a new look team.

Leeds team news.

Brian McDermott will be looking to re energize Leeds with handing debuts to new signing Cameron Stewart. (We can also assume Jimmy Kebe will have signed by this point, and will also play) This will no doubt see the end of the 3-5-2 formation. It would be difficult to guess what formation we will play, but it could also be a possibility that given the time of the signings we may stick with the 3-5-2 until the next game and a week full of training. After the performance and result against Rochdale, it would be safe to assume that only Paddy Kenny has earned his place in the lineup on Saturday. The team line up and formation is anyones guess at this point, so I’m not even going to try.

Sheffield Wednesday

Wednesday have had a difficult season and currently sit 20th and 1 point clear of the drop zone. Wednesday’s last league match saw them defeat Blackpool 2-0. With our record in Yorkshire derbies and current form we know we will be in for a difficult game, and they will definitely want to beat us… As usual.

Connor Wickham will be the man to watch, a decent player at this level and has lifted Wednesday since his arrival on loan.

The last 10.

Our last 10 meetings with Wednesday stretches way back to 1999. Leeds have a decent record against the Owls wining 6 out of the last 10. Our last victory at Hillsborough came in 2006 when a David Healy penalty was the difference between the sides.

  1. I think it will be safe to say we’ll revert to a 4-4-2 style formation. We may also now start to see some rotation in the middle of the park and the reintroduction of Stephen Warnock at left back.
