Patrick Bamford has been spotted back out on the training pitches ahead of a potential Leeds United return alongside Robin Koch.

Leeds have been without Bamford since September’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle United due to an ankle injury, whilst Koch has been absent since the opening day defeat to Manchester United.

However, Leeds have now offered an update on social media, showing Bamford and Koch back out on the training pitches at Thorp Arch.

The pair look to be taking part in a light training drill, away from their first-team teammates.

It remains unclear (and probably unlikely) that they will feature for Leeds at Brighton on Saturday. Nevertheless, this update has been well received by supporters:

It’s good to see that Bamford and Koch have got themselves this far on their way to recovery.

Their respective absences have been frustrating for everyone and the sooner they are behind the club, the better.

Bamford has been sorely missed in attack, whilst Koch’s ability to cover defence and midfield will be another weapon for Marcelo Bielsa.

How fit the pair are right now is the big issue. It feels like their returns are going to still be a little bit further down the line.

This update is a good one, but training alone hardly screams: In in the squad at Brighton.
