A must win game for Leeds – Who starts against Brentford?

|

According to Mr Christiansen himself, this is a must win game for Leeds. Although it’s a bit too early for that to be true, we get where he’s coming from. If we go into the international break with another defeat, the pressure on him will be huge, whether that’s right or wrong.

Anyway, let’s get into the team for tomorrow’s game…

GK – Andy Lonergan – He’s been one of our only good players in recent weeks, expect him to continue for the time being.

Into the defence…

RB – Luke Ayling – I would have dropped Ayling if we had a suitable replacement at left-back, we need to see a much-improved performance from Luke.

CB – Pontus Jansson – Still the best centre-back at the club despite his inconsistent form, a Jansson special could be in order down in Brentford.

CB – Liam Cooper – It’s time to get back to the form these two had at the start of the season, the captain and our best player not named Samu really shouldn’t be struggling this much.

LB – Gaetano Berardi – Back from suspension just in time to save us from complete meltdown, Anita just isn’t a full back.

Into the midfield…

CM – Ronaldo Vieira – One of our better players against Derby, we need to give him a proper run of games. Hopefully his passing is a bit more up to scratch tomorrow.

CM – Mateusz Klich – As I found out when I wrote about it earlier this week, not a popular opinion, but I feel O’Kane needs a rest. Klich needs to step up at some point and he has experience of playing alongside Vieira so hopefully that happens tomorrow.

CAM – Kalvin Phillips –
It worked against Bristol City and after missing a game through suspension, he should be raring to go.

Into the attack…

RW – Stuart Dallas – Dallas did well out of position on Tuesday night but he deserves a shot in his natural position, we could really use his final ball.

LW – Samu Sáiz – By far our best player, he stands out in every game. I’m not the biggest fan of him playing wide but we beat Bristol City 3-0 with him playing there so why not?

ST – Pierre-Michel Lasogga – He’s taken quite a bit of stick recently but he’s clearly our best option upfront, if the service is good, this man scores goals. Simple.

Let us know what team you’d go with for tomorrow’s game!

Hi, I would like to see Berdi at right back Cooper at right back with the young back Shaughnessy in the middle instead of pennington. Sorry about the spelling.

On paper, your team selection looks strong and right. Leaving out O’Kane for Klich may be controversial, but against Burnley, Vieira and Klich really worked well together.
