Garry Monk has today stated that both Liam Bridcutt and Hadi Sacko are looking probable to be in the squad for the game against Newcastle.

This is interesting for a few reasons, firstly that it was thought to be unlikely that they’d both be fit and also that I don’t think it’s a guarantee they make the squad even if fit. We had our best game for some time against Preston, with both Liam and Hadi missing. I understand Bridcutt at least being on the bench but Sacko would not be making the squad for me. He’s been quite poor for some time now, if we are in fact changing to 5-3-2 then he wouldn’t fit the system either, so I wouldn’t be confident on him being in the squad. Garry Monk has also confirmed that Marco SIlvestri has had a knee operation and may be out for the season.
