It’s been reported that Leeds United have reached a “total agreement” with RB Salzburg for the service of Brenden Aaronson, who will have a medical soon ahead of his arrival at Elland Road.

Leeds beat Brentford 2-1 on the final day of the Premier League season to survive, sending Burnley down in the process as they lost to Newcastle United at Turf Moor.

Attention has quickly turned to recruitment, with Leeds working on a deal for Aaronson, who they tried and failed to sign back in the January transfer window.

Back in January, Leeds saw Salzburg stand firm as they pursued Aaronson, with a £20m package not enough to lure the club into selling.

However, it now appears Aaronson will be bound for Elland Road.

Florian Plettenberg reports on Twitter that there’s now a “total agreement” between the two clubs and everything is clear.

A medical will come “soon” as Leeds close in on their first summer signing and first signing under new head coach, Jesse Marsch, who previously worked with Aaronson at Salzburg.

Quiz: Are these 15 facts about Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch true or false?

Jesse Marsch started his senior playing career with Chicago Fire.

Everything feels like it’s falling into place with Aaronson after Leeds have secured season three in the Premier League.

Leeds have clearly been working on this deal since January, when they went hard to sign Aaronson for Marcelo Bielsa.

What’s the most encouraging aspect of this deal is the fact that Leeds are moving quickly to land his signature.

Getting Aaronson through the door at the start of the summer lifts the supporters after a bleak season, whilst also giving the midfielder time to get everything in order off-field ahead of pre-season.

Fingers crossed this is the start of an efficient summer at Elland Road.
