Stuart Dallas was the Leeds United hero over the weekend after scoring a brace in a memorable 2-1 win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Leeds were down to 10 men following Liam Cooper’s red card shortly after Dallas had opened the scoring, but responded to Ferran Torres’ equaliser by striking late through the Northern Irish international.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side were forced to defend with real determination, but at the other end it was down to Dallas to convert the only two shots that the Whites managed on Man City’s goal.
Taking a few days to reflect on his heroics against the Premier League leaders, Dallas has now taken to Instagram to deliver the following message: “Special feeling. Special team,” alongside a host of emojis and tagging Leeds’ official account.
In response, Cooper responded praising his teammate, as did Luke Ayling, who took on the captain’s armband following the former’s dismissal:
Leeds’ attention now turns to two more huge fixtures for the football club.
On Monday, they take on Liverpool at Elland Road, before welcoming Manchester United to West Yorkshire on April 25th.
Cooper will miss both those fixtures through suspension, alongside the game with Brighton and Hove Albion on May 1st.
