Lewis Bate has issued a show of support to Adam Forshaw as the Leeds United midfielder aims to make a swift return to action after picking up a hamstring injury in yesterday’s win over West Ham United.

Leeds hearts have been in their mouth regarding Forshaw, despite the impressive nature of their 3-2 triumph in London.

Forshaw limped out of action in the first-half with a hamstring injury, as Bate replaced him.

Taking to Instagram to provide an update on his injury, Forshaw confirmed things weren’t serious and that he could be back as soon as next weekend when Leeds host Newcastle United at Elland Road.

In response to the 30-year-old’s long message, Bate issued a simple supportive emoji:

Bate’s introduction came on 22 minutes, with Marcelo Bielsa replacing the young midfielder on 65 minutes as he gave Rodrigo Moreno a cameo.

The Chelsea academy graduate’s opportunities are coming whilst Leeds juggle a tough injury list, which includes Kalvin Phillips.

The return of Robin Koch and Pascal Struijk has helped cover Leeds’ midfield issues, whilst Diego Llorente’s availability next weekend after suspension frees up Stuart Dallas for a return to the engine room.

Bate, then, could find himself developing back with the U23s.
