Former Leeds United striker Kemar Roofe fired in an extra-time winner for Rangers as they made it past Braga into the semi-finals of the Europa League.

We’re getting to the business end of the season in April, and with that, there are crucial matches on the line across Europe, and the UK is well-represented in the latter stages of European competition this season.

Rangers needed to come from behind in their second leg clash against Braga and goals from James Tavernier took them to extra-time against 10 and then nine men.

Ex-Leeds man Kemar Roofe sent Ibrox into raptures when he tapped into an open goal midway through extra-time, eventually sending Rangers through to the Europa League semi-final.

When speaking after the game to BT Sport, Roofe had this to say about the game and atmosphere:

“As the fans are signing ‘no surrender’, that’s what it was tonight.”

As he took to Instagram to share his reaction to a thrilling win, Stuart Dallas reacted with praise for the striker:

Good goal, great performance, incredible interview 😆💙

It’s amazing to see Roofe doing so well at Rangers, scoring massive goals.

He’s someone that not many wanted to see leave Leeds, knowing how good a goalscorer he is when he stays fit.

Roofe is a great character too, given how we’re seeing him still keep in touch with the Leeds players despite playing for two different clubs since.

I’m sure Leeds fans will be hopeful of Roofe doing the business against RB Leipzig in the semi-finals.
