Leeds United have yet to make a move for West Brom attacker Matheus Pereira despite his desire to leave the club.

That’s according to LUFCFANZONE, who say that the Elland Road club have not made contact with the Brazilian this summer.

Pereira’s future has been the subject of much speculation this summer, with Leeds among the clubs who are said to be interested in the 25-year-old.

Now, that speculation looks set to intensify even further, after Pereira took to Twitter on Monday night to confirm his desire to leave West Brom this summer.

Despite that, it seems Leeds have yet to make their move if they are to look to sign the attacker in the coming weeks.

According to this latest update, a source close to Pereira has confirmed that the player has received no contact from Leeds over the course of the transfer.

It does however, seem as though Leeds could stand a chance of sealing an agreement with Pereira if they want to.

The source went on to add that he believes the Brazilian deserves to remain in the Premier League, and that would be available for Leeds if needed.

It was reported earlier this summer that West Brom are demanding £30million for Pereira this summer, a valuation that was thought to have priced Leeds out of a deal for the attacker.

This does look to be something Leeds should be trying to take advantage of.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side do seem to be looking to add another attacker to their ranks this summer, and Pereira’s performances last season show that he could be a very good option to fill that role.

Now though, this update certainly opens the door for Leeds to swoop for the Brazilian, given he does seem to be keen on a move to Elland Road.

Indeed, Pereira’s stance here could put the pressure on West Brom to reduce their asking price for the attacker, which could also benefit Leeds if he now becomes available at a price that is affordable for them.
