After a fairly tricky first half in which Leeds struggled to get a foothold and assert their attacking dominance, the change came with the introduction of new boys Helder Costa and Eddie Nketiah. The latter scoring the all important winner…
Kiko Casilla- No significant mistakes to report of and dealt with Brentford’s attempts to crowd him at set pieces well. 7/10.
Stuart Dallas- One of Leeds’ best dribbles and worked a few decent attacks down his flank. Unfortunately, came off injured and we wait to hear about that. 7/10.
Ben White- Managed well against a tall Brentford side as they obviously focused on their set-pieces coming up to this match. 7/10.
Liam Cooper- Some fantastic interceptions and recoveries as always against a Brentford side we well know can be very dangerous. 7/10.
Ezgjan Alioski- A Classic Alioski performance, tried to do a lot but not necessarily a lot came from that. 6/10.
Kalvin Phillips- Kalvin did what Kalvin does tonight, made the interceptions, tackles and fouls necessary to aid everything else on the pitch. A fairly tidy performance all round. 7/10.
Mateusz Klich- Some wayward passing like the others but played the all important through ball that allowed Helder to run it in for Eddie to bag and credit to him for that. 7/10.
Adam Forshaw- Kept the game ticking and bossed the midfield as he should be. Fundamental to Leeds switching play around. 7/10
Pablo Hernandez- One of his more average games in a Leeds shirt, unfortunately missed and underhit passes were wasteful. He wasn’t the only one, though. 5/10.
Jack Harrison- Struggled to make an impact on the game and was one of a number of the Leeds midfield who were simply too pedestrian at times. 6/10.
Patrick Bamford- Used his physicality to his advantage well tonight, didn’t have a great many chances to work with and put one inches wide in the second half. 7/10.
Helder Costa- Worked hard for his assist. 8/10.
Eddie Nketiah- Absolute demon up top, all over them like a rash. Well placed to convert Costa’s ball. Think we could be hearing a bit of that this season. 8/10.
