We’ve come away disappointed from a draw away at Aston Villa, that tells you exactly where we are.

Rob Green – 9 – His best performance in a Leeds shirt, he commanded the box well and made some class saves, one in particular at the end of the game to keep it at 1-1.

Luke Ayling – 9 – One of his best performances in a Leeds shirt too, although there’s been plenty, he was all over the park and his game was summed up when he kept what looked like a dead ball in and found Sacko who almost set up Roofe.

Liam Cooper – 6 – I’m a fan of Coops and he played extremely well until that handball, I really don’t know what he was doing, it looked like he was saying he got pushed into it but it’s just one of those things really, they happen. There’s really no need to abuse him though.

Pontus Jansson – 9 – Another 9, hence why I’m so annoyed we didn’t win. He was unbelievable and his goal was very well taken, if his volley that hit the bar had gone in, imagine the scenes. We need to sign him permanently, now.

Gaetano Berardi – 7 – Another solid performance from Berardi, you know what you’re going to get, 7/8 every week.

Liam Bridcutt – 8 – Slow start but grew into the game, we definitely missed him, despite the fact our results didn’t show it. He’s so good at breaking up attacks and then getting us going quickly the other way again.

Kalvin Phillips – 7 –
He started extremely poorly, but I thought in the second half he was key to us being as good as we were, he made some vital interceptions towards the end of the game too. His engine is ridiculous.

Kemar Roofe – 7 – I thought Roofe was decent, not his best game but you can see how much his confidence has grown from a few weeks ago. Some of the touches and little turns he does are exquisite.

Stuart Dallas – 6 – I’m starting to think maybe this team has passed Dallas by, I like him and he’s a decent player, but this team has taken a step up and I’m not sure he’s on that level. Great corner for the goal though.

Hadi Sacko – 6 – Yes he was good at times, but he seems to get a pass from most people, ironically something he should think about doing himself. The chance he missed was pretty much a sitter and he had two occasions, one in particular where he should have passed it to Wood for a tap in and he didn’t, it’s really frustrating and you can see it in Wood’s body language.

Souleymane Doukara – 7 – Looked a tad lost in the first half but grew into the game and held the ball up well, made some nice runs and had some good link up play.

Pablo Hernandez – 8 – Only a sub but he is a step above everyone else, his first touch is sublime and his passing is top notch, he played a ridiculous pass to Sacko that he should have squared to Wood. He should start next game.

Another top quality performance from Monk’s team, if we can get past Rotherham, we’ve had a great Christmas period.
