Leeds United’s hopes of signing Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Brenden Aaronson this month appear to have been given a boost.

That’s after a report from The Daily Mail claimed that Aaronson is keen on a move to Elland Road during the current transfer window.

After a quiet start to the market in terms of senior signings, it seems as though Leeds are starting to now make their move in terms of recruitment.

According to reports from The Athletic on Tuesday night, Leeds have seen a £15million bid for Aaronson rejected, but are intent on signing the Salzburg midfielder this month.

Now it seems as though the Elland Road club have been handed a boost in their pursuit of the 21-year-old, thanks to his own perspective on a potential move.

According to this latest update, Aaronson is keen on a move to Leeds, due to the fact that he is keen to work under manager Marcelo Bielsa.

As a result, the Whites are said to be readying another bid for the American international, who has three-and-a-half years remaining on his Salzburg contract.

This does look at though it ought to be a big boost for Leeds in their pursuit of Aaronson.

If the midfielder is indeed keen on a move to Leeds, that could put pressure on Salzburg when the next bid comes in, since they may want an unhappy player in their ranks, considering the unwelcome distraction it could cause.

It also means that if a bid is accepted by Salzburg, the process of negotiating with Aaronson himself could be easier, given there shouldn’t be much of a challenge in terms of convincing him to make the move.

This therefore, feels like an exciting update for those of a Leeds United persuasion, and you feel there will be much more to come from this saga, over the course of the next week or so.
