Image for Leeds united transfer rumours latest – Week 2

The second week of transfer rumours have been just as you’d expect, dodgy. The most recent rumours are that Leeds are interested in signing 2 of Serie B’s top goalscorers

still pretty uninspiring, really.
Leeds have also been linked with Yeovil town defender Byron Webster, the former Leeds academy player isn’t one of the big names that we’ve all been hoping for and at 27 he should be in his prime. Nothing I’ve seen of him suggests that he’s the type of player that we should be going for however he may be a step up on Tom Lees.

We have also been linked with two more defenders, Dean Moxey, who has just been released by Crystal Palace and Harry Maguire of Sheffield United, who still has a year to run on his deal. Moxey, previously of Derby, is a solid defender at championship defender and would be a good signing for us, in my opinion. Harry Maguire though would be an excellent signing, there will no doubt be competition for his signature. He was in the League One team of the year this season and at only 21 years old would be the perfect target for Leeds.
Most recently United have been linked with Chelsea duo Sam Hutchinson and George Saville. Hutchinson, a defender and Saville, a midfielder have both been released by Chelsea and Hutchinson is wanted by various clubs including QPR. George Saville impressed for Brentford last season, playing 40 games in their promotion winning campaign. If we do sign either or both of these players it will send the message out that we are building for the future.
So far the rumours have been less than inspiring in honesty. This added with other teams actually completing deals already isn’t giving me the greatest confidence for next season. Leeds United’s bank account being frozen due to a winding-up order doesn’t help, either.
