Leeds United winger Helder Costa could be subject to a late move to Valencia with reports of an enquiry from the La Liga side.

The Whites have been very busy heading into the transfer deadline day, with one key signing on the cards into the club, while fringe players could secure moves elsewhere.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Manchester United looks to have sparked a transfer domino effect at Elland Road too.

With the Portugal star arriving, it has led to Leeds being able to bring in long-term target Dan James, with a reported £25million transfer imminent.

James’ arrival at Leeds leaves Helder Costa’s future in serious doubt as he would become fourth choice in the winger pecking order.

The Athletic’s Phil Hay has relayed his claims from earlier in the summer that Valencia had been interested in signing the 27-year-old this summer.

Costa’s influence on the Leeds side has dipped significantly since the arrival of Raphinha, with his 2020/21 season only yielding three league goals.

Now, reports from Spanish outlet Radio Estadio claiming that the Spanish outfit have now enquired about the possibility of signing the winger from Leeds:

While Ronaldo’s arrival isn’t something we should be bothered about, it’s helping us potentially wrap up two deals that have been on the cards for a while.

I still think Costa leaving is a long shot this late in the day but it’s one that makes a lot of sense with how he’s fallen out of favour.

It’s not as though he’s going to be getting much game time at all this season now that James is signing (or looks like it at least).

A move to La Liga would suit him a lot and it’s clear he needs to revitalise his career after struggling since our promotion to the Premier League
