It is being reported that Leeds United could have Patrick Bamford available for selection for the final two games of the season.

Leeds’ injury nightmares this season have had a major say on the club’s overall form, not allowing either Marcelo Bielsa or Jesse Marsch the chance to have a full-strength team to pick from at any point.

Patrick Bamford’s issues this term mean that he’s not been able to even get close to his brilliant 17-goal haul that he managed in Leeds’ first season back in the Premier League.

Bamford has been dealing with plantar fasciitis for around a year now after it was revealed in a club update following his latest setback away to Wolves.

It was confirmed that the striker would be out for six weeks following that aggravation of the injury when he landed awkwardly at Molineux last month.

A six-week absence would take him to the end of this month, and now the Yorkshire Evening Post are reporting that he could be back in the side for the final two games of the season.

Will four more points be enough for Leeds to avoid relegation?

Leeds cap off their campaign with a home clash against Brighton, before travelling to Brentford on the final day of the season.

That return would round off his recovery at around eight weeks, seeing him hopefully hit full fitness by the time the Seagulls make their way to Elland Road.

Great news.

FIngers crossed that Bamford can hit this schedule and end what has been a terrible season of injuries on a real high.

With the Nations League coming up for England, it would be intriguing to see if Gareth Southgate would be eager to pick him, should he end the season well.

Personally, I hope Bamford stays clear of any competitive action in the summer months just to ensure we’re not risking any further injuries.

I just don’t want anything to be riding on these games at the end of the season, meaning Bamford’s return is again rushed.
