Leeds return to Elland Road for the first time since Boxing Day to play host to Yorkshire rivals, Sheffield Wednesday. Wednesday are mid-slump having lost 3 on the trot so the FA Cup will feel to many as a clear break from league form. Wednesday will be hoping this much is true, they knocked out Premier League Brighton 0-1 on Saturday.
Here’s how Leeds are expected to line-up:
Kiko Casilla: Despite Meslier’s good performance against Arsenal, it’s unlikely he’ll be taking the starting gloves off Kiko before his ban comes into force.
Luke Ayling-Liam Cooper-Ben White-Barry Douglas: Though Berardi was granted a start in the Cup this was believed to be purely for fitness reasons. Giving Cooper, no stranger to injury, a rest and further recovery time. Cooper is expected to return to the starting XI. The major change here would be a return to the starting line up for Barry Douglas. The second half against West Brom and a full game against Arsenal, is Bielsa seeing something from Barry that he likes?
Kalvin Phillips-Stuart Dallas-Mateusz Klich: It’s unknown whether Tyler Roberts or Jamie Shackleton are up for selection again, yet. Shack made a tentative return to U23s football on Sunday, playing reduced minutes and seemingly not going at full pelt. Regardless, there’s little reason to disrupt this central midfield at present. An argument could be made to play a more natural centre midfielder instead of Dallas, but his best half in this position came in the second against West Brom.
Helder Costa-Patrick Bamford-Jack Harrison: No changes expected here, Pablo still expected to be a little while from returning. This is Marcelo’s attacking line and it’s enjoying some form of late.
