Championship football is back! Whether it’s better than ever, remains to be seen… Leeds make the short trip to Barnsley but are being made to wait until Sunday lunchtime. Sunday lunchtime, a perfectly normal time to play football that is convenient for all parties, yes. We beat on and look to bounce back from Swansea’s smash and grab at Elland Road.

Here’s how we expect Leeds to line-up:

Kiko Casilla: Kiko returns with the gloves in hand. Looking to bounce back and get his streak of clean sheets in the league back on track…

Stuart Dallas: After signing a new four year deal, Dallas’ stock is as high as ever. His attacking presence is a huge part of what Leeds are trying to do with the ball at the minute and with Ayling still injured it’s unlikely that we see this position change for some time…

Ben White: Whites’ White has been ever present and rightly so, his first month in the Championship has been nothing but a success and he’s been justly rewarded with the Player of the Month award.

Liam Cooper: Returning from a difficult spell with Scotland and a brand spaking new 5 year contract, I’m sure he’s looking forward to playing for a decent team again…

Barry Douglas: I am of the belief that Douglas’ injury is not too serious and he was back in selection contention for this game.

Kalvin Phillips: Another player who’s been rewarded with a new contract, 5 more years of contract to be exact. And rightly so. No one in the league plays the Kalvin role better than Kalvin plays the Kalvin role.

Adam Forshaw: Adam Forshaw has played consistently well throughout the season thus far, in fact the centre midfield as a whole doesn’t give cause for much concern at all at the minute. No changes necessary.

Mateusz Klich: Klich only played one full game for Poland during the international break so shouldn’t be too jaded. Expect him to return to zagging all over the pitch and being a creative outlet for Leeds.

Pablo Hernandez: Pablo got some well earned rest over the break and is expected to return to the right midfield role. Well, of course…

Helder Costa: The change. Time has come for Bielsa to bring the Summer’s marquee signing into the line-up. Expect Barnsley to sit back and tight on Sunday, Costa should provide Leeds a bit of extra gumption to cut through them.

Patrick Bamford: I expect Bamford to be given the starting nod on Sunday with Eddie introduced on the hour mark if Leeds are still hunting. Perhaps we might see them both on the same pitch. This might be a solution that Marcelo has been working away on during the international break.
