Bobby Kamwa will be free to leave Leeds United this summer if he finds a club, although the youngster will not be linking up with Rotherham United ahead of 2021/22.

Leeds are working hard to strengthen Marcelo Bielsa’s squad this summer, but are also looking to streamline other areas of the club.

The number of youngsters on the books is something Leeds are looking to address. New bodies are coming in, others now seem surplus to requirements and are being primed for moves elsewhere.

That appears to be the case for Kamwa, although it isn’t clear where he will end up.

As per the Yorkshire Evening Post, Kamwa will be allowed to leave Elland Road for free this summer should he find a club.

The midfielder, who has only a year left on his terms at Elland Road, has been on trial with Rotherham recently, looking for a break with the League One club.

However, a permanent move to link up with Paul Warne’s side has now been ruled out, as per the Rotherham Advertiser.

Kamwa has been a regular for Leeds’ U23s, making 10 appearances in Premier League 2 Division 2 last year.

A move to Rotherham would have been a good opportunity for Kamwa, with the Millers heading back into League One and having a chance to compete at the right end of the table under Warne.

However, they look set to place their faith elsewhere in a bid to strengthen their side ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.

That, though, shouldn’t reflect badly on Kamwa. He’s been excellent in the U23s at Elland Road and will get his break somewhere else in the EFL.

Whether he has to step down into League Two, or gets that break at League One, remains to be seen. However, there’s surely something just around the corner for the talented midfielder.
