Mateusz Bogusz was offered words of encouragement from UD Ibiza players in wake of returning to Leeds United with a season-ending injury.
Leeds had trusted Ibiza with Bogusz’s development this season, with the Polish midfielder adapting to Spain well.
The 20-year-old scored four goals and registered six assists in the Spanish second-tier, but saw his season cruelly ended by a knee injury last month.
Ibiza were in action on Monday against Zaragoza, playing out a 2-2 draw in an entertaining home clash.
Before the game, though, Bogusz’s former teammates paid tribute to him, wearing t-shirts with the message: “Mucho Animo Mati,” which roughly translates to “Lots of encouragement Mati.”
Bogusz shared a close-up picture of the image on social media:

It’s gutting for Bogusz that his season has been cut short with a cruel injury, but it’s nice for him to know that he had a good impact in Spain – not just professionally, but also personally.
We see that here, with his Ibiza teammates sharing a message with him.
You never know, an opportunity to return to Ibiza might come in the future when Bogusz has battled his way back from injury and got himself fit.
Stranger things have happened in football, with opportunities at Elland Road hardly forthcoming.
