Leeds United player ratings v Wolves

After a first half that lacked absolutely everything the second half was the best I’ve seen Leeds play all year. We actually created chances and had shots, that doesn’t happen very often.

Marco Silvestri – 7 – Didn’t really have much to do, made a key save near the end though.

Gaetano Berardi – 8 – Another solid game from Berardi, along with Taylor he’s probably been our most consistent player this season. We’re sorted for full-backs next season if Taylor stays.

Sol Bamba – 7 – Scored one of the best goals I’ve seen live considering it was him who hit it, but his defending up until the goal was poor to say the least. We definitely need a new Centre-back or two next season.

Liam Cooper – 8 – I thought Cooper had a typical solid game, people who don’t rate him need to watch a bit closer for me. Definitely our best CB and it isn’t even close. Sell Bellusci in the summer, sign a top quality CB to go next to Cooper and we’ll be solid enough.

Charlie Taylor – 9 – Taylor had a game that was typical of him really, dominated the winger he was up against and got forward a lot, putting in some really good crosses. I hope we can hang onto him during the summer.

Toumani Diagouraga – 9 – A really good game from Dave to be fair, I still think he’s a bit like a cheaper version of Bridcutt but he had a really good game and scored another good goal. He hardly scored any goals for Brentford and here he is with 2 in 2. I wouldn’t be expecting him to score 5 a season though.

Luke Murphy – 8 – I thought Murphy had another top quality game, recently he has been running the games in midfield and fans seem to be noticing, he has been a scapegoat and times in the past so hopefully he’s got better times ahead.

Lewis Cook – 9 – I feel like I’m being too kind with these grades but Lewis Cook definitely deserves his, he was unbelievable last night, back to his best after winning the Football League’s player of the year. The run in the build-up to Botaka hitting the bar was vintage Cook, like something you see from Messi. With Eddie Howe watching last night it’ll be hard to keep him.

Lee Erwin – 5 – I don’t want to be harsh on his first start but he was really poor last night, he didn’t really contribute at all, gave the ball away a lot and just didn’t look right. Maybe he’ll improve. To be fair to him, he’s not a winger.

Lewie Coyle – 7 – Coyle had a decent game but you can tell he’s not a winger, I wish Evans would stop playing people out of position.

Chris Wood – 8 – I thought Wood had a really good game despite not scoring, he seems to be sharper than he was in the first-half of the season, winning more headers and holding up play well. Should really have scored his first-half chance.

Jordan Botaka – 8 – I really really don’t understand why Botaka has been kept from us for so long, he’s clearly good enough to trouble defences in the Championship. How on earth did Erwin start ahead of him? The build-up to his shot that hit the bar was incredible, and he was desperately unlucky not to see that shot go in. He offers something different, he’s fun to watch and we haven’t had that since Gradel.

Stuart Dallas – 9 – Dallas got the official MOTM, whilst I wouldn’t go that far I do agree that he helped change the game, he’s in the best form he’s been for us at the moment. His shot that hit the bar was quality and he was unlucky not to score with a volley too.

I won’t get ahead of myself, Leeds always seem to play when it doesn’t matter. With the new Season ticket incentive we need to see good performances from August, not March. MOTM for me would be Cook, he was unreal.
