A game Leeds were cruising through until Ayling gave away a silly penalty. Overall, it was Leeds’ best showing since Derby and a game dominated by two of our best players.

Kiko Casilla – 7 – Didn’t really have much to do other than one good save at his near post and picking the ball out of the net for the penalty.

Into the defence…

Luke Ayling – 6 – Without a doubt Ayling was better than he has been recently but his final ball is still extremely poor at times. Giving away the penalty was ridiculously stupid, he had no need to make that tackle and it could have cost us.

Pontus Jansson – 9 – Almost perfect from Pontus tonight, he was a colossal force at the back. Whether it was winning headers, making last-ditch interceptions or taking the ball forward well over half-way, he was brilliant.

Liam Cooper – 8 – Cooper was at his best too, but it’s hard to shine when your centre-back partner is playing like prime Fabio Cannavaro.

Gjanni Alioski – 8 – One of Alioski’s better performances of late, he was constantly getting beyond Jack Harrison and putting crosses in, just needed a bit more accuracy on those.

Into the midfield…

Kalvin Phillips – 9 – What a performance from the Yorkshire Pirlo once again. Leeds are a much better team with him playing in midfield and long may it continue. Some absolutely wonderful passing today but most impressive was how often he broke up Swansea attacks with pure strength.

Matuesz Klich – 7 – Quiet start to the game but grew into it, one of his more notable games recently. Some nice link-up play with Roofe and co.

Kemar Roofe – 7 – Caused many issues for Swansea but he and Bamford aren’t quite on the same wavelength at the minute. Should probably have had a goal from Shackleton’s pass too.

Into the attack…

Jack Harrison – 8 – Constantly a threat on the left, beat Swansea’s right-back more than he’s ever beaten anyone in a Leeds shirt and took his goal well.

Pablo Hernandez – 8 – As important as ever, he was toying with the Swansea left-back, going past him with ease despite his lack of pace. Some brilliant passing.

Patrick Bamford – 7 – Some absolutely brilliant hold-up play from Bamford who brought others into the game. He should have had a penalty when he was rugby-tackled to the ground but that’s fair game where Leeds are concerned. When he’s 100% fit the goals will come.

I thought we were excellent last night with one exception. Ayling is just awful. How can you give him 6. I would give him 2 at best. Passing is brutal and the penalty , you could see what he was going to do five seconds before he did it.

I wonder how any games Leeds will have to play before we get a penalty awarded? 58 is the record to beat!
