It wasn’t the prettiest of performances from Leeds but after a first half where they could have been behind, they put in a much stronger second half to get the much-needed 3 points.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell – 8 – Probably his best game so far this season, his save after Cooper’s disastrous pass was magnificent. Other than that, he did everything he needed to, including catching some crosses at important times which may sound basic but we all remember Felix.

Into the defence…

Luke Ayling – 9 – In a game that was looking like the Leeds of old, one of Leeds’ most consistent players stepped up and brought his preseason form into the regular season. Despite goal-line technology taking its time, it was a good finish.

Gaetano Berardi – 8 – Another solid performance from Berardi playing out of position, it’ll be intriguing to see how long Pontus is kept out of the team for.

Liam Cooper – 6 – Cooper was more like the version of himself from last season today, his passing was off and it almost cost Leeds dearly if not for BPF coming to the rescue.

Barry Douglas – 7 – Douglas looks like the sort of player who will be a 7 every week with some 8’s and 9’s sprinkled in there, top signing.

Into the midfield…

Kalvin Phillips – 7 – Slow start to the game from Kalvin but really grew into it, culminating in a beautiful ball to Roofe for Leeds’ second goal of the day.

Matuesz Klich – 6 – A lot of neat little passes from Klich which unfortunately didn’t work as well as they had been the past few games, came close with a few shots from outside the area.

Samu Saiz – 7 – I can’t stop thinking about the chance that he should have taken in the second half, the buildup play was beautiful and it deserved to be finished off. Samu still had a good day, his final ball could use a bit of work though.

Into the attack…

Pablo Hernandez – 7 – It feels like I’ve written 7 about 25 times but it was that sort of day, Leeds had a lot of half chances throughout the game and a lot of those came from Hernandez’s wonderful passing and movement.

Gjanni Alioski – 7 – Alioski’s crossing has improved massively since last season, his work-rate is outstanding too.

Kemar Roofe – 8 – A slow first half from Roofe but yet again he steps up when he’s needed, doing what he does best by running in behind and finishing from a tight angle.
