Leeds United player ratings v Reading – Goals galore as Leeds unlucky not to win

|

Gaetano Berardi – 6 – He had a hard time against barrow early on but grew into the game and nullified Reading’s main threat.

Pontus Jansson – 9 – The driving force of everything good at Leeds today, which included scoring our first goal. He also managed to avoid being suspended yet again, which is a plus.

Matthew Pennington – 6 –A better performance than we’ve seen from a Leeds centre-back not named Jansson recently, he still struggles with the ball at his feet.

Laurens De Bock – 4 – Watching De Bock was like a bad comedy-sketch at times. We’d have been better off seeing what Pearce had to offer.

Into the midfield…

I could not believe De Bock got another game!
    He sleeps through each game.
Two bad teams end with a point each!!
    Last 13 games – 39 points available.
    We managed 8 points.
We had let in more goals than last season, with ten games to go (plus another 2 today)!!
    Busy Summer AGAIN!!!

Promising start for our new manager. Already repair the goalkeeping problem. The defence still all at sea, but Tom Pearce, Tayler Denton and Lewie Coyle fighting it out with Luke Ayling and Laurens De Boch for the full back spots next season. Pontus Jansson to keep and Matthew Pennington, but please sell Liam Cooper, Geatano Berardi and Vurnon Anita. Conor Shaughnessy is future top defender but we must sign a new top center back for next season.

I think we need to start again. We will never get out of this Division with such a lightweight forward three plus Saiz. Personally I would keep Hernandez and let the rest go.
