Leeds United player ratings v Reading – From Zero to Hero for BPF

|

Not vintage Leeds, but it was stereotypical Leeds. Absolutely brilliant save by BPF.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell – 9 – Fair play BPF. You shut us all up tonight. Massive save.

Into the defence…

Stuart Dallas – 9 – Without a doubt Dallas’ best game of the season, topped off with an important goal.

Kalvin Phillips – 9 – KP didn’t look out-of-place at all in the centre of defence, he made many important interceptions and his passing was on point.

Liam Cooper – 8 – Solid game from Coops, who’s quietly putting in a very good season.

Barry Douglas – 6 – His delivery today was outstanding, why on earth did he make that tackle, though? Defensively shaky tonight.

Into the midfield…

Adam Forshaw – 7 – Extremely quiet first half, improved a lot when Saiz came on, similar to the game against Bristol City.

Lewis Baker – 2 – Fans have wanted to see Baker for some time now, the big occasion arrived and it was a massive let-down. I swear he got nutmegged about 3 times and couldn’t seem to complete a pass.

Matuesz Klich – 5 – A quiet game by Klich’s standards, no doubting his effort but the final ball was lacking today.

Samu Saiz – 8 – He doesn’t even have to be at his best to change the game and change the game he did today. Leeds are much more of an attacking threat with him in the side.

Into the attack…

Gjanni Alioski – 0 – That dive was a disgrace. Bielsa HAS to drop him now.

Pablo Hernandez – 8 –The main man Pablo, always involved in everything good that Leeds do. Lovely touch in the buildup to Dallas’ goal.

Jack Clarke – 6 – Clarke did more than Alioski within the first 20 seconds, really stretching the defence. Why he didn’t play through Saiz is a mystery, though.

Kemar Roofe – 7 – Kemar’s holdup play was excellent tonight, he ran the Reading defence ragged without much help in the first half. All that was missing was the goal.

6 points from 6, despite some questionable performances, you can’t ask for much more.

Let us know what you thought of the game tonight!

I for one was wanting Baker to start but bit of a let down..think he’s better with Saiz next to him…Alioski needs about 2 months on the sidelines & we need someone to support Roofe up front

Forshaw, Klich and Baker are too similar.
None of them want to take the game to the opposition, so we end up passing round in circles.
    Alioski needs a long rest.
    Well played Dallas & BPF!!
    Another hard fought 3 points.
    Marcelo was restless!!!
    So was I.

    MOT!!

Forshaw slows the game down and rarely does anything of interest whereas Klich is always looking to create and finds intelligent positions. Saiz should start with Klich, with Phillips taking Forshaw’s position, when Jannson returns. Alioski has never convinced me and looks more unconvincing by the game. I would rotate Clarke and Harrison on the right – not ideal, but we do not have any alternative.
