Leeds United player ratings v Hull

|

What a game, I still can’t believe that first half performance from Leeds, it was like nothing I’ve seen for a very long time. Every player put in 100% and that’s all we ask for at Leeds, the atmosphere was brilliant too. For the ratings;

Marco Silvestri – 8 – Had a good game by his standards, he still needs to improve his catching, or lack of, but made some good saves today and even recovered from a bad error to save a goal, although it turned out to be offside.

Scott Wootton – 7 – Fair play to him, Leeds had to defend for a long time and he stood up to the challenge, didn’t make any errors and helped out in attack as much as his ability allows him to.

Charlie Taylor – 8 – You won’t see Charlie Taylor having a bad game very often, he had another good game again, despite not being 100% still. He’s equally good going forward as he is defending and for me it’s no question that he could start in the Premier League right now.

Liam Cooper – 9 – Extremely solid game today from Cooper, he’s really growing into the player we all hoped he would be and he has really stepped up into the captaincy role with Bamba injured. For me he’s the best centre-back at the club, he’s overtaken by Bamba by some way, hopefully they can create a solid partnership moving forward and get us a few more clean sheets.

Giuseppe Bellusci – 8 – Fair play to him, I thought he played really well today with the exception of a few dodgy clearances, it was good to see him getting involved in the celebrations too, we need a good unit.

Liam Bridcutt – 9 – I thought Bridcutt was top quality today, he broke up everything and kept things ticking in midfield, especially in the first half. He seems to be the exact sort of player that we’ve been missing for so long, I’ll let him do it a few more times yet before I open the champagne.

Tom Adeyemi – 8 – Adeyemi was all over the pitch today, in a good way, he really took to the box-to-box role well, he never stopped running and he took his goal really well. He did really impress today, I didn’t expect it from him, the formation with 3 in the middle helped too.

Lewis Cook – 8 – Another solid performance from Cook, the through ball to Dallas for the Wood goal was world class and he seems to never stop pressuring players, closing them down. We’ll probably have some bids to deal with for him in January.

Stuart Dallas – 6 – I don’t think he had the best game today, although the ball for the Wood goal was perfect, I still rate him highly.

Alex Mowatt – 7 – The change in formation helped Mowatt out, he was more involved in the play today but still not as much as he would be if he was played centrally. He was unlucky with a great shot that hit the bar, the keeper didn’t even move. It’s good to see him play well again though, it’s been a while (with the exception of his unbelievable goals).

Chris Wood – 9 – I thought Chris Wood had his best game, with the exception of Bristol City, for Leeds so far, he was much better at holding the ball up and winning headers, he scored a good goal and he never stopped pressuring the Hull defenders.

All in all, an excellent performance from Leeds and one that wasn’t really expected. Now what we need is consistency.
Come on Leeds!

    Really enjoyed the game, tremendous work rate from all the players, what a great atmosphere inside ER, what a ball from Lewis Cook, he carried the ball so well, before putting Dallas in for the great cross for Wood to score, crazy IF we had picked the points against Rotherham we would have been a few points off a play off place, WOULD HAVE, SHOULD HAVE, COULD HAVE !!! MOT.
