The first half was diabolical, the second was a complete mess but one that Leeds dominated. How we missed some of the chances that we did is mind-boggling, but it was Kalvin to the rescue.
Kiko Casilla –
Defence
Luke Ayling – 2 – I don’t know what’s wrong with Ayling but he needs taking out of the team immediately, he was so poor today.
Pontus Jansson – 7 –Strong enough performance from Jansson today other than losing a few balls in the sun early on, so unlucky not to score when he hit the post.
Liam Cooper – 7 – Didn’t do much wrong today, he made a great last-ditch tackle to stop Boro grabbing a second.
Gjanni Alioski – 6 – Alioski was good going forward but let Boro get in-behind him a few too many times.
Midfield
Kalvin Phillips – 9 –What a return to the midfield for KP, some brilliant play breaking up Boro attacks and what a time to score his first goal of the season.
Mateusz Klich – 4 – Largely invisible today as he has been for some time now, his form is concerning to say the least.
Kemar Roofe – 6 – Made some good runs and nobody can question his effort, but we really needed him to take that massive chance today.
Attack
Pablo Hernandez – 8 – When Pablo gets on the ball frequently, Leeds are a better team. It’s as simple as that.
Tyler Roberts – 7 – Roberts looked lively today, some great play in tight areas of the pitch.
Jack Harrison – 4 – Some really sloppy passing, his best play of the game was somehow fending off three Boro attackers as they looked to break late on.
Jack Clarke – 4 – Showed some positive signs but was
Patrick Bamford – 3 – Pretty much missed an open net, he looked like he was lacking match fitness and to be fair, he is.
