Leeds United player ratings v Birmingham – Keeper error costs Leeds unbeaten record

A horrible game to watch, Birmingham spent most of the game on the floor and Leeds’ great record with keeper errors continued…

Bailey Peacock-Farrell – 3 – One of his worst performances for Leeds, that first goal was unbelievably poor keeping. Questions have to be asked now as this isn’t the first time BPF has been at fault for goals we’ve conceded.

Into the defence…

Luke Ayling – 5 – Not one of Ayling’s best games by any means, slack in defence and his passing was not a strong point.

Pontus Jansson – 5 – It was noticeable today at times how slow Jansson is with his passing and that may be the reason Berardi kept him out of the team for a while, it’ll be interesting to see what happens when Berardi is back fit.

Liam Cooper – 6 – Cooper was definitely the better of the two CBs today, but nothing to shout about either.

Barry Douglas – 6 – I feel like we haven’t seen the best of Douglas yet and that’s largely down to Alioski being in front of him.

Into the midfield…

Kalvin Phillips – 2 – It didn’t seem to be a Swansea-type poor performance from KP today but he certainly wasn’t good, but who was playing well at that stage?

Mateusz Klich – 5 – Didn’t have any sort of effect on the game today, still was a weird change to take him off for Forshaw who isn’t exactly creative.

Samu Saiz – 5 – Nowhere near as influential as he was against Preston, but can hardly be blamed for today.

Into the attack…

Gjanni Alioski – 6 – If he hadn’t scored a well taken goal late on then he would have probably been a 2, he clearly doesn’t know the offside rule and he did pretty much nothing.

Jack Harrison – 4 – Extremely quiet game from Harrison and it showed exactly why we miss Pablo so much.

Stuart Dallas – 7 – Definitely improved the game when he came on and was unlucky not to snatch a draw at the end with a good shot.

Tyler Roberts – 7 – One of our better players on the day, his movement was quality and he linked up play nicely.

Leeds just need to move on from this game quickly and bounce back on Friday night in Sheffield, but who will start in net?

Yes I know we were crap all over the park today but it’s the same story again , Ayling wouldn’t pass water. Alioski is crap, full stop. We need a proven keeper who has played at the top and knows how to command his box and not give away stupid goals. Where was Phillips today, missing again. Berardi, Roofe, Pablo, Bamford come back quickly.
Big test next Friday night at SW.
Let’s see what our squad is made of.

What a poor report. Obviously not a real Leeds fan. Yes Leeds were poor but BPF made one mistake and he is a poor keeper? Saiz was also well below his best as were the rest of the team. It is a tough league but Leeds are still top! The players collectively had an off day and they will need to learn to handle teams that come to defend and time waste if they get in front. May be it is a wake up call to the fans who think we will walk the league
