What a day, what a game and what a team. Despite going 2 down early doors, Leeds under Bielsa are never out of the game. We had a player with the name of Leif playing today and we still won. Have that.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell – 5 – Not a vintage performance from BPF today, his positioning for the second goal was questionable to say the least. He had a few dodgy moments on top of that, but who really cares at this point.

Luke Ayling – 7 – Started the game like a player who’s been out injured but really grew into it and was vital whether he was at left or right back.

Jamie Shackleton – 7 – Shackleton never looks out-of-place, even when playing out of position. He’s a big threat going forward.

Pontus Jansson – 10 – He deserves the big 10 rating today, what a man, what a hero. He loves a goal at Villa park as well. Leading by example at the minute.

Kalvin Phillips – 8 – He’s not a centre-back but my word is he doing an impressive job looking like one. The man lives and breathes Leeds and should really be captain when Cooper is out, in my opinion.

Leif Davis – 8 – I’ve never watched the man play before today but given he was thrown in at the last-minute after Barry Douglas came down with an illness, he did better than anybody could have hoped for.

Adam Forshaw – 4 – Leeds were magic today but Forshaw had a shocker, he didn’t seem to do anything other than give the ball away. It’s time to let KP play in his natural position again.

Mateusz Klich – 6 – Some lovely runs in behind the Villa defence and good passing to match. Unfortunately his finishing touch was lacking slightly.

Pablo Hernandez – 8 – Hernandez just cruises through games, leaving a little bit of Christmas joy all over the pitch. The effect he has on this team is unmatched.

Jack Harrison – 0 – Just useless, to be honest.

Gjanni Alioski – 7 – Despite being offside far too often again, Alioski quietly put in his best performance for quite some time. Some of his deliveries were top-notch.

Jack Clarke – 9 – Every time he gets the ball he looks dangerous, what a beautiful way to open his account for the team. His reaction to get the ball back quickly instead of celebrating like a madman was amazing.

Kemar Roofe – 9 – His goal could be the most important goal this season. What a finish in those immensely pressurised circumstances, his link-up play was quality today as well.

An unbelievable day for Leeds results in the Whites being top of the table at Christmas. We’ve all heard the records about how teams top at Christmas go up but this is Leeds we’re talking about. Could this be the year?
