It’s been reported that Leeds United have had scouts watching Brennan Johnson at Nottingham Forest ahead of the January transfer window.

Leeds have had an eye on bolstering their squad with young talent in recent seasons, with Johnson excelling in the Championship right now at Forest.

It appears that Leeds are taking a keen interest in what the Wales international is doing.

As per reports from Football Insider, Leeds have sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old in action for Forest in recent weeks.

It’s claimed that Leeds representatives were in attendance as Forest drew 1-1 with QPR last Friday night.

Johnson spent last season on loan with Lincoln City in League One, but has returned to the East Midlands this season to great effect.

He’s scored three goals and registered three assists in the Championship this season, and is in action this afternoon against Preston North End.

Johnson has been electric for Forest this season, proving to be one of the brightest young forwards in the Championship.

He’s a player that’s getting better and better, who will eventually take the step up into the Premier League.

The youngster has got pace to burn, as well as plenty of end product to match – as six goal involvements this season underline.

Johnson can play left or right, centrally as a No.10, or even as a central striker to stretch play.

In many ways, he’s similar to Ollie Watkins, who has been a great signing for Aston Villa in the Premier League.

If the price is right, Leeds should look to get this done.
