Leeds United are one of the Premier League clubs who are interested in signing Sassuolo winger Jeremie Boga.

That’s according to a report from The Daily Mail, who say those English clubs have been put on alert by a bid for the 24-year-old from Atalanta.

A member of Chelea’s youth setup, Boga never quite made the grade at first-team level at Stamford Bridge, and after several spells out on loan, joined Sassuolo permanently in 2018.

The midfielder has since gone on to score 18 goals and provide five assists in 90 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A club.

Now it seems as though that is starting to attract attention from back in the Premier League.

According to this latest update, Leeds, Everton and Crystal Palace are all interested in the 24-year-old, but have yet to make a concrete offer for Boga.

Now Atalanta have apparently made their own move for Boga. It is thought that Sassuolo’s Serie A rivals, who finished third last season to again qualify for the Champions League, have made a £15.5million offer for Boga.

Sassuolo are said to have rejected that bid, although Atalanta are now thought to be considering another bid for the winger.

It will certainly be interesting to see how and if Leeds respond to this move from Atalanta.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been linked with a number of wingers this summer, suggesting that is a position they are keen to strengthen in.

Boga has impressed in that position in Serie A, so you can understand why he might be seen as a candidate to fill that role at Elland Road.

However, there is plenty of competition for Boga’s signature it would seem. That could make this tricky for Leeds, particularly given Atalanta can offer him Champions League football, meaning you wonder whether Bielsa and co. may need to look elsewhere in their winger pursuit.
