Leeds United take on Tottenham this weekend with the faint hope of pulling off an incredible shock in the Premier League relegation battle under Sam Allardyce.

Leeds need something of a miracle in order to stay in the division this Sunday, as they need to not only make up a two-point gap by winning against Spurs, but also hope that Everton lose at home to Bournemouth and Leicester fail to beat West Ham.

After Leeds’ trip to the London Stadium last weekend, not many will hold out much hope for Leeds, given the shocking second half performance on display from Allardyce’s side.

He is likely to have to make changes to the side as we gear up for the final home game of the season, but there will be some who will continue not playing after last weekend’s defeat.

Here, we look at two players that we may have already seen the last of in a Leeds shirt ahead of this afternoon’s clash…

Junior Firpo

Leeds may only have one natural left-back at the club in Junior Firpo, but his absence from the West Ham game was his own doing, as he sat out with a one-match ban from the Newcastle draw.

That game proved why Leeds and Allardyce simply cannot rely on him, making three mistakes that led to two penalties and his eventual red card for two bookings, which he looked like he was dead-set on being given throughout the match.

Pascal Struijk didn’t exactly prove he was a resounding improvement against the Irons, but with Leeds having three centre-backs that are capable of playing at left-back, there should be no reason for Leeds to have to call upon Firpo again.

Knowing that we cannot afford any defensive howlers, Firpo needs to be kept out of the side, and that should be the last we see of him.

Illan Meslier

Joel Robles is going to keep his place in goal, and it’s been refreshing to look at the goals Leeds have conceded and not have to point fingers at the ‘keeper at all really.

Meslier is no doubt an incredibly talented stopper, but his development at Elland Road has stalled and there’s very little chance of us turning that around at this moment in time.

The defence gives him no chance of keeping a clean sheet, while his confidence is absolutely on the floor at the moment.

Even if Leeds stay up on Sunday, you’d expect that the club would be minded to cash in on him anyway, and that would mean his final game in a Leeds shirt would have already been and gone – a 4-1 shocker at Bournemouth.
