Leeds United youngster Cody Drameh made his place on the first-team bench this weekend, and then scored his first under-23s goal.

Leeds’ investment in the summer took them into the youth market for a handful of shrewd signings.

One of those was Fulham right-back Cody Drameh who joined for a reported fee rising up to £1million.

He’s since impressed a lot at both ends of the pitch and looks a real prospect for the future.

Drameh and the under-23s lifted the PL2 Division 2 trophy on Monday as they romped to a 5-2 home win over Burnley.

It was a special moment for Drameh who fired home his first PL2 goal since joining Leeds, two days after he travelled with the first-team to Brighton.

He has caught the eye an awful lot since joining and looks like a solid successor to Luke Ayling in the first-team, which his weekend inclusion outlines.

He took to Instagram to share his thoughts on a landmark weekend for him at the club:

His comments were full of teammates rightly heaping praise on him. Crysencio Summerville and Stuart McKinstry’s comments the pick of the bunch:

Drameh looks a brilliant investment and his first goal showcased what he’s about.

Bombing forward and getting into very smart positions, he’s got similar attacking traits to Ayling.

He’s perhaps better on the ball than the Leeds number 2 though, with his dribbling good enough to see him waltz past defenders regularly.

That’s probably where the spider nickname comes from, with his long legs quite noticeable when he strides upfield.
