Finally, the Leeds we know and love are back in business. In our preview for the game, we suggested a change to three in midfield with Vieira coming in. That’s exactly what happened and it worked a treat. Here’s the ratings…

Andy Lonergan – 8 – Didn’t have much to do but made saves when necessary and his distribution was much-improved today. He’s been better than Felix so far.

Into the defence…

Luke Ayling – 7 – Back to the Ayling we’ve come to expect, defended brilliantly and supported the attack well. A nice return to Bristol for him.

Matthew Pennington – 8 –
Replacing Jansson is a big task and Pennington was up to the challenge. He dealt with everything that came his way and looked like he belongs in the side.

Liam Cooper – 7 – Made one mistake that could and maybe should have resulted in a goal but other than that he was extremely solid and by far the biggest leader on the pitch, constantly barking instructions out.

Gaetano Berardi – 6 – He was actually having a decent game up until he headbutted Matty Taylor and got sent off. That’s the Berardi we adore.

Into the midfield…

Eunan O’Kane – 8 – Made a great run and pass for the first goal, was back to his usual form after a few down weeks.

Ronaldo Vieira – 9 – What an impact he made, he was all over the park and as the song goes, he never gives the ball away. Makes you wonder why he’s not played more really.

Kalvin Phillips – 9 – Kalvin benefited greatly from Vieira coming in to the side, he loves playing further forward and it showed today. His passing was top-notch and he was unlucky not to score himself.

Into the attack…

Ezgjan Alioski – 7 – Was extremely involved in the first half and played some great passes, linking up with Samu as per usual. Faded away slightly as the game wore on but did his job well.

Samu Sáiz – 9 – What a little magician, clinical is the word to describe him. Whenever he’s on the ball he makes things happen, it’s as simple as that.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga – 9 – Worked extremely hard and his link-up play was up another level today, great to see him scoring from a corner too.

Let us know what you thought of the game today, who was your MOTM?

Great game! Thomas did a wonderful job to train the players for 4:3:3 formation in a very short of time and increase our firepower!! We also had great defence 4 defenders a magnificent! We should keep this formation going into next games and we will be invincible!!!
