Leeds United are leading the race to sign Birmingham City midfielder George Hall this summer.

That’s according to a report from The Daily Mail, who say that other Premier League clubs are also interested in the 17-year-old.

Despite his young age, Hall has rapidly risen through the ranks during his time at Birmingham, and is already on the fringes of the first-team.

The midfielder has made two Championship appearances for Lee Bowyer’s side, featuring on the bench on a further four occasions.

That is something that has attracted plenty of interest from elsewhere, and according to this latest update, it is Leeds who lead the race for the teenager’s services.

Did these 15 sides beat Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds United?

Did Barnsley ever beat Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds United?

It is thought that the Elland Road club are willing to pay a seven figure fee in order to sign Hall, with Newcastle and Brighton also keen on his services.

For their part, Birmingham are still said to be working on a deal to keep Hall – who only signed a contract until 2024 in November – at St Andrew’s, with the lure of more first-team opportunities.

This is certainly an exciting update from a Leeds United perspective.

The Elland Road club have obviously had a great deal of success from signing young players from elsewhere in recent years, and Hall fits that mould as well.

Having already forced his way into the first-team reckoning at Birmingham, the midfielder clearly has a great deal of ability and potential, which could make him an asset for many years to come.

As a result, it is perhaps no surprise Leeds are willing to spend that sort of fee on him, given the coup that this could prove to be for them.
