It appears a Karl Darlow exit from St.James’ Park is all but sealed as he was left out of their FA Cup squad tonight.

As third choice keeper one would expect this to be a game ripe for his inclusion and he is yet to appear this season in the league. Darlow made 11 first team appearances in the Premier League last season.

Phil Hay revealed yesterday that Leeds were very keen on the player, however there was disagreement in the terms of the deal. Newcastle would have preferred a straight transfer but Leeds are hoping for a loan arrangement to be made. It’s expected in the case of a transfer, the 28 year old would cost around £4 million.

Could we see further activity on this in the week ahead?

According to well informed sources here in Sweden, Darlow is injured. That’s why he wasn’t in the team yesterday.
