Leeds set to field experimental team against Reading?

|

Leeds’ season was ended in embarrassing fashion over the last two games, both 3-0 defeats. We haven’t seen the expected improvement when a new manager arrives, just more of the same. It’s clear to most people that two central midfielders isn’t working, as we get overrun far too often. So for the game tomorrow, I’d go 4-3-3, like we did in the 3-0 victory against Bristol City.

GK – Bailey Peacock-Farrell – BPF had about as good as a debut as you could hope for against the best team in the league. It would be silly to bench him after that, we need to see if he could be our future number one.

Into the defence…

RB – Gaetano Berardi – Berardi needs to play for his future at Leeds. Most fans love his personality but he’s been poor on the pitch for most of this season.

CB – Matthew Pennington – There were rumours that Leeds are interested in signing Pennington at the end of the season on a permanent deal. Based on his performances this season, I’d say that would be a bad move. He needs to show what he’s about in the remaining games.

CB – Pontus Jansson – It’s sad to think that this might be Jansson’s last season at Leeds and he had to waste it playing next to Liam Cooper. If Radrizzani really means business, we must keep Pontus for next season.

LB – Tom Pearce – Anita is a mess at left-back and Heckingbottom clearly doesn’t rate De Bock. Tom Pearce is the best player in our academy and I genuinely believe he could be our future left-back. He’s on a par with what Charlie Taylor was at his age, if not better.

Into the midfield…

CM – Adam Forshaw – Goes without saying that Forshaw should start at this point, although he could do with winning a game soon.

CM – Vurnon Anita – It’s about time we saw him play in his natural position, surely? He may well be awful but we won’t know until we try, and let’s face it, the other central midfielders aren’t much to shout about.

CM – Ronaldo Vieira – Vieira hasn’t been up to much good himself this season, but it’s time to put Phillips and O’Kane away for a little while. Vieira could flourish in a midfield three, as he did away to Bristol City.

Into the attack…

LW – Samu Sáiz – Clearly he’s not a winger but he did a good job last time we played this formation, he can float all over the front line.

RW – Gjanni Alioski – Probably the most inconsistent player we’ve had this season but he seems to perform better when Samu is alongside him.

ST – Pierre-Michel Lasogga – You have to feel for Lasogga, the lack of service he’s received has been abysmal. The rest of the season for him is pretty much an audition for teams who want to sign him this summer.

Let us know what teams you would go with for the game tomorrow!

I’ve been watching Leeds for many years and we are no closer to the promised land than we have ever been!
BPF great game midweek but let’s not get carried away, my 82 year old dad would have an improvement! Pontus is quality but he will be in the prem next season! Samu and Hernandez lovely footballers but need to stick a foot in as well, Forshaw is a great addition, Viera needs a boot up his backside, could be great in the championship and Dallas is very honest, unfortunately the rest are just not good enough!

Same old problem, Leeds need to spend 50 million if they want promotion, but with that money can they trust the new manager to buy the right players, I think not!!
    Same old. Same old!!!!
