I wrote a match review straight after the Bournemouth match because of how happy I was with it. Today I am even happier but I’ve had quite a few hours to think about it now and it’s even better. Before the game started we basically knew that Darko Milanic, the current manager of Sturm Graz in Austria, was set to take over after the weekend. That made this game a send-off for Neil Redfearn really, what a job he has done. He came in with the team in chaos and has finished with 3 wins and a draw. I love the man, what a job he does for Leeds United. Everything he does is for the good of the club.

The game itself was class, apart from Berardi, everybody played excellent. I was going to pick some stand-out performers but there were too many, Doukara was great as-per usual. He’s my favourite of the new signings I think, he has pace to get past people, he works extremely hard for the team and has a great finish. Top drawer. Antenucci deserves a shout as well, I didn’t really get him at first but the last few games he’s really grown on me. He’s clearly got a good finish on him and links the play well, offering much more than Matt Smith or Dom Poleon could.

This is the first game this season where I won’t mention Silvestri, he didn’t have to do anything. Stephen Warnock was brilliant again, as he has been all season. Personally, I have always been a fan of his but a lot didn’t like him last season, he seems to have won them over this season. Thankfully, Bellusci showed that he could defend and not just produce moments of magic, although he did do exactly that. I was amazed to see that Bellusci had found himself just outside Huddersfield’s box with the ball right on half-time. I was even more amazed when he then lobbed the keeper and unfortunately hit the bar, only for Antenucci to stick in the rebound. It was an amazing goal really, especially considering Bellusci never scored for Catania.

Overall it was just a great game to watch, with a top atmosphere to match. The new head-coach would do good to just keep things exactly how they are. We actually look like a team who could do things this season.

Please please please, who ever the new coach is, do not ‘tinker’ with this team and look to Redder’s for advice, it is the first time in too many seasons that I have felt we can actually challenge the top 6, if we carry on playing like this then I don’t feel we need to fear anyone and will give any team from any division a game.

Rudy was definatly motm by a mile , next 3 matches could be key to where we finish this year , win 2 and draw one and we could be looking at a top ten finish , very good signs in the last 2 weeks that we could become a very good championship team , stay lucky

I agree. The new man will have done his homework and will of course sit down with Neil for a proper professional handover. This is no Hockaday and I am sure he will introduce techniques and styles that will enhance the team even in this form and that can only be a positive. There’s a lot more to come and like many, many fans I haven’t been so upbeat and excited like this for a long, long time.MOT.

can a caretaker manager win Manager of the Month? I know we have a bit of bias but its an interesting though because honestly Redders could be in that conversation
