With Jack Clarke and Eddie Nketiah both being recalled by their parent clubs, Marcelo Bielsa has made no secrets about the need to secure another attacking option.

It comes as little surprise therefore that Beren Cross, has claimed that Leeds are on the verge of signing Ian Poveda, of Manchester City. Poveda, 19, is a winger/attacking midfielder. However, he has yet to feature for Manchester City’s senior teams he has been included in a travelling Champions league squad.

He has been a regular feature for the England youth sides at many levels and has also spent time at numerous academies, namely Barcelona and Arsenal.

This is an interesting acquisition from Leeds as it’s unclear what involvement he will have i the first team. If he’s coming in for a direct replacement for Jack Clarke then one expects he’ll be a feature off the bench when he’s needed. If Bielsa rates him highly then he will obviously become more regular. It is highly unlikely that he becomes a starting player however, given Bielsa’s commitment to his two current wingers Helder Costa and Jack Harrison.
