Following scans on Monday, Leeds have confirmed that left-back Barry Douglas will be out injured until the end of the season. Douglas had just about recovered from his last injury and was beginning to come back into the first-team fold but it’s been said that the knock hampered his last 20 minutes of the game against Milwall.

Douglas came on as a substitute at half time for the makeshift left-back Ezgjan Alioski and of course provided the all important, perfectly timed and perfectly weighted for Luke Ayling’s headed goal.

The injury of Barry Douglas until the end of the season before the return of Kemar Roofe does confirm one astounding fact. That at no point this season, has Marcelo Bielsa ever had a fully fit squad to select from. This makes the potential promotion all the more impressive on his part.

Leeds confirmed the news on Twitter this morning, stating that the former Wolves man had ruptured a medial ligament in his knee. Douglas arrived at Elland Road in Summer for a fee of around £3 million.
