The latest rumours around Elland Road are positive ones, with reports coming out last night that Leeds are trying to sign Jordan Hugill on loan from West Ham. Leeds were linked with him last January but he instead moved to West Ham, where he has only featured three times, without scoring. Manuel Pellegrini doesn’t see him as part of their plans so Hugill is free to move on, with QPR also interested in signing him.

Purely from a logistics standpoint, it would be easier for Hugill to stay in London and play for QPR. However, if Leeds can convince him to come here as well as finalising the Vydra move, we’d suddenly have one of the best strike forces in the Championship.

Due to the fact football is coming home, Leeds have managed to escape the usual restlessness from fans. However if we go another week or so without a signing, it won’t go down well. Clearly there would still be more work to be done if these two signings were completed, but it would have us well on our way to a successful summer.

Let us know what you think, do you want Hugill at Elland Road?

  1. Every other club is actually signing players, but yet again Leeds United are just being rumoured/linked with everyone but very little happening in terms of players signing for us. :-/
