According to El Correo Leeds are trying to bring Marcelo Bielsa to Elland Road as a replacement for Paul Heckingbottom. The 62-year-old has managed many top sides such as Athletic Bilbao, Marseille, Lille, Lazio, Chile as well as Espanyol and Argentina. Bielsa’s greatest achievement as a manager came when he was in charge of Bilbao, losing the final of the Europa League to Atlético Madrid.

Bielsa’s most recent job was as manager of Lille, where he was sacked half way into his first season after being suspended for a run of poor results. No stranger to controversy, Marcelo also had a contract dispute at Marseille and quit Lazio two days after signing, which prompted the Italian side to sue the manager.

I think it’s fair to say this move would split opinion amongst the fans, as it is a big name. Just when you think Leeds can’t get any more bizarre, they come up with this. In simple terms, he used to be very highly rated and successful, but in more recent times he seems to have let things slip, so to speak.
