With concerns over the future of Marcelo Bielsa now settled with today’s news that he has agreed to stay at Leeds United for another season; attention will now turn to improvements that can be made to the Leeds United squad that finished 3rd last season.

Saeid Ezatolahi is a name that has been today linked with a move to Elland Road, by Tasnim News Agency who are based in Iran. Saeid’s current club is Rostov, in Russia. However, Saeid was loaned to Reading last season, though only managed 4 appearances before suffering a season-ending injury.

The 22 year old’s contract at Rostov is set to expire at the end of next month and so it is likely that should this deal go through, it will be on a free transfer. Exactly the sort of business we have been told to expect this window.

As a centre-mid, many will ask what’s his use? This seems to be just about the only position Leeds don’t need to strengthen in, with Phillips, Shackleton, Klich and Forshaw making up the numbers in this department.

However, Leeds know they have to be careful and spend wisely this window due to budget constraints, so we can trust that if this does happen, it’s well thought through. (Hopefully).

  1. Adam Forshaw needs to be sold … quite simply, he’s not good enough to fit Marcelo Bielsa’s system, plays the negative ball far too often and is caught in possession too often.
