Liam Cooper has predicted that the future is bright for Leeds United, as he revels in the under-23s’ success in Premier League 2 Division 2.

Leeds’ under-23s are managed by Mark Jackson and captained by Charlie Cresswell, with that duo leading the side to promotion and the league title in 2020/21.

That league title was lifted over the Bank Holiday weekend, with many Leeds fans missing the chance to celebrate and congratulate with the youngsters due to the social media blackout.

However, Cooper was amongst the first to break silence on Tuesday and congratulate his young teammates on all their success.

Taking to Instagram, he shared a simple message and photo of Cresswell holding the trophy aloft:

Cooper has missed Leeds’ last three fixtures due to suspension, sitting out of the draws with Liverpool and Manchester United, as well as Saturday’s defeat at Brighton and Hove Albion.

Marcelo Bielsa will be able to call on his captain again this weekend, though, against Tottenham, as Leeds host the North London club at Elland Road.

Leeds are hoping to dust themselves down and get back on the winning trail after three games without victory.

To do that, they will need to be at their best and performer considerably better than they did against Brighton at the weekend.
