Leeds United are one of several clubs interested in signing young defender Thierno Balde from PSG, a report from French outlet L’Equipe has claimed.

The Whites have recently been credited with an interest in two of PSG’s other young players who are starting to force their way into the side’s first-team in the form of Adil Aouchiche and Tanguy Kouassi, and it seems they are not the only members of the French champions’ squad to have caught Leeds’ attention.

According to the latest reports, Leeds are also interested in a move for 17-year-old Balde, who has already featured for the club’s Under 23s side on a number of occasions this season.

The versatile defender is out of contract at the Parc des Princes at the end of this season, and while PSG have reportedly offered him a new deal, it seems Balde will have plenty of options should he choose to move elsewhere in the summer.

It is thought that Leeds, Southampton and PSG’s Ligue 1 rivals Saint-Etienne are all keen on a potential move for Balde when the window reopens, meaning there could be quite a battle for his signature.

A young player with clear potential, it certainly seems as though Balde meets the sort of criteria Leeds have been looking for in the transfer market, and given where he is coming from and the interest he is attracting, this could quite a coup for Leeds if they were able to pull this signing off.
